A Grand Beginning
The Candlelight Inn was built in 1870 by Shade Tipton as a private residence. This magnificent Second French Empire mansion showcases classic mansard rooflines and a distinctive tower that rises above the third story, adorned with restored ironwork and detailed gingerbread moldings that decorate the exterior of the structure.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel the elegance and craftsmanship of a bygone era preserved with care and maintained with pride.
Timeless Elegance
Throughout the home, the majesty of the era lives on with soaring ceilings, original light fixtures, and beautiful architectural details.
The front hall features a stunning walnut staircase that extends over 14 feet to the second floor. Inlaid parquet borders of cherry, maple and walnut adorn the oak floors on the first level.
Expansive windows fill the home with natural light, highlighting the fine craftsmanship and historic character found in every room.
